Our investment philosophy

Our path forward is to acquire, operate, and partner with attractively priced, well-run small private and public service companies that can deliver free cash flow growth for a long, long time. There is no fundamental difference between owning an exceptional private operating company and owning the common stock of an exceptional public company.

We protect, enhance, and deploy our hard-earned and sacred permanent capital in a durable, concentrated, and differentiated collection of superior service companies. These companies are run by able and honorable entrepreneurs with important and unique long-term competitive advantages, so free cash flow earnings will likely be materially higher many years from now.

We have no master strategic plan or need to proceed in some ordained or conventional fashion. Instead, we work daily to improve our investment and operating processes and our employee-first culture. By remaining flexible and keeping our investment and operating options open, we decide what makes long-term sense to try to grow equity book value per unit for our Owner Partners.

ACN files more Form 13F and Form 13H reports, two important regulatory filings for investment managers, on the EDGAR system than any other filing agent in the world.

Fremont, Ohio

  • The Hart's Ambulette fleet of modern wheelchair-lift-equipped vans, licensed by the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Medical Services, is driven by a team of certified drivers transporting physically disabled wheelchair users. The business serves nursing homes and healthcare facilities, including dialysis centers, and provides their transportation services predominantly to individuals via private pay, trip brokers, and Ohio Medicaid.

Austintown, Ohio

  • BioVac Industrial Services operates various vacuum and water blasting equipment used to aid water filtration plants by removing and replacing filter media such as sand and gravel. The company also aids heavy manufacturing companies in keeping their facilities clean of dirt, grime, oil, paint, and other contaminants that slowly build up in their facilities.
